Girls’ Night In

It’s the weekend, and you want to celebrate. You don’t want to do anything too over the top, but you still want to catch up with your friends… A girls’ night in it is!

This week, I’ve teamed up with Chambord to give you five of my best tips for hosting the ultimate girls’ night in.

Tunes

Every night in needs a playlist! I recommend using a streaming platform like Spotify for finding the best sounds. Depending on your preference, you could go for some upbeat, party songs, or a more relaxing vibe. My choice would be “Dinnertime Acoustic” from Spotify, which makes the perfect background music for chatting the night away.

Food

It can be quite difficult figuring out what food to provide when you’re having friends over. Whenever I host a night in, I like to start with a cheese platter, with some dips as well. I then keep the main food pretty simple, and think a taco bar works best. To do this, simply prepare some tacos, with an assortment of toppings, like beans, guacamole, chopped veggies, salsa, and sour cream. Your guests can then help themselves.

If you’re like me and don’t enjoy baking, dessert is probably the easiest part to prepare as you can just buy an assortment of cakes and biscuits. I like to buy mine from Brunetti or Laurent, and serve them with tea and coffee.

Drinks

If your friends are all over 18, you can enjoy some delicious Chambord cocktails. My favourite is a French Martini.

BLOGCHAMBORD

To make one, simply pour 15ml of Chambord, 50ml of vodka and 60ml of fresh pineapple juice in a shaker. Add a handful of ice and shake it like a polaroid picture… Top your creation with fresh raspberry or a lemon twist! Remember to drink these responsibly.

For anyone under 18, or for those who prefer a non-alcoholic alternative, you can make a fruit punch, or mocktails, which are equally delicious!

Entertainment

What’s better than watching a good chick flick with the girls? My favourites include:

  • He’s Just Not that Into You
  • Love Actually
  • Clueless
  • Pretty Woman
  • Notting Hill
  • Any other Julia Roberts movie (haha)

Relax

The whole point of a girls’ night in, is to catch up with your friends in a relaxing environment, a.k.a your house! So put your PJs on, have a cocktail, and enjoy catching up with the girls this weekend.
