Travel Journal – Porto

Day 9 – Porto, Portugal

Just like that we were back in sunny Portugal… Porto, to be exact – yippee! This meant crystal clear waters, cobblestoned roads, and more Pastel de Nata… (see my post on Lisbon here)

We started our day on a hop-on hop-off bus to get a general feel for this coastal city. The sky was of a beautiful blue, and the stunning city gleamed with colour.

After our tour, we stopped in the city centre for some lunch, which consisted of salt-cod fritters and a glass of local port. #delicious

Following on from our indulgence in the local cuisine, we strolled around the city. We even watched a Portuguese wedding ceremony when we stepped into the Gothic church of São Francisco do Porto.

After some fun in the sun, it was time to head indoors and… shop! We found brands like Pinko and Escada inside of the department store El Corte Inglés, which was situated near the local marketplace.

It was soon time to head back to the ship and await our next stop, Gibraltar.

Stay tuned for my next Travel Journal, coming this Wednesday.
