Almost two weeks ago, I attended the Third Platform fashion show. I was invited by young designer Charlene Caday, whose label “Hi Char” encapsulates all things quirky and whimsical. I could not wait to see Charlene’s collection in person, and I can honestly tell you that I was not disappointed!
The night began at 8pm at Spirit Station Pier in Port Melbourne. The venue was quite trendy, and is positioned by the water.
Upon entry, we were greeted by the Third Platform team, and then offered some nibblies and sponsored drinks like Sparkling OH!, a deliciously flavoured sparkling water.
The show began at 9pm sharp, and featured collections from:
Lunar & Storm
It was a pleasure seeing the unique collections from these labels. Each designer had taken creative risks in their work and pushed the boundaries, making all of the pieces stand out and speak for themselves.
I loved Hi Char’s pieces. They were colourful and vibrant, fun and feminine. I especially loved the pastel yellow and pinks used by Charlene, and not to mention the incredible Pom Pom scarf, which was definitely a crowd favourite.
Vincent Li’s menswear collection was also impressive, as it incorporated innovative prints and cuts.
I am sure everyone that attended the show would agree that Third Platform did a great job on the night. The atmosphere was buzzing, and the designers each presented such modern and experimental collections, that were on a professional level.
A big thank you to Charlene for inviting me along! Keep up to date with Charlene and her Hi Char collections on Instagram here.
Stay tuned for a behind the scenes tour of Hi Char’s studio and insights into Charlene’s creative process in a blog post coming next week! #watchthisspace
